Cindi has a point - all the recent changes seem to have focused on making the most profit, not on improving the game.  Looking on the good side (if there is one) it's getting increasingly easy to find large inactives with nice resources to raid. Too bad a lot of them are in leagues that have died.

I'm sure that's not what you're wanting to hear Lord Oberon, but apparently nobody else is listening.
What about the new features that make your gameplay interesnting and help your League earn new Rewards and prove its strength? Like Dragon or League Fortress?

sorry but its like ... you drop the price of gas/petroleum by $0.5 and then increase it by $10

OR

like you give a person a glass of water but put them in a dessert

if anyone got anymore please share lol

Or even like.. the reward system is for Plarium, its how they get players addicted to a game that doesn't allow for real rewards..

Real rewards in gaming come from hard work and smart individual/team play. That reward is called "Winning".

Imho, players win everytime they have a good time and achieve great things alone or together in games. Banging your head into one pay wall after the other is not part of that experience. A company behind a game, achieve great things when they get A LOT Of players vested and interested in their games, and will be loyal customers for a long time. Its called the long haul... and customer retention.

At current time there is no successfull relationship between players and Plarium. Its more of a abusive relationship- Big HINT! its not the players that is the abusers -)

Well, it's fair to get a Reward for a reason. You play the game, you reach some goals, you get the Reward.

Difference is, in a mmo I can sub for magbe 12 euro a month. where equal value in stormfall probably would cost me 10 times if not more that. Someone posted on the forums here, even with the bonus to revive of units on the becon massacre, the units he left, still was worth over 500 USD worth to revive...

If I take a game game such as swtor, wow, or whatever else really, my group fail utterly at do some raids and my gear is all banged up. I get a repair bill to fix the gear. Of which I use golds, credits whatever I grinded for in the game. The next few hours I go do random quests and group content with other players and guildies etc and earn back said costs in no time.  If transelate that to Stormfall, it turn into "sapps please, sapps please, sapps please, sapps please, sapps please........... The constant push for players to buy sapphires is killing the fun.

Oh yeah games such as swtor have a f2p model too, but also a cash shop. And the beauty is. Players who doesn't fancy grind, they spend on unlocks, and other stuff they sell on the ingame market to f2p players who doesn't mind do the grinding to buy such from other players. I don't know how it is today, but short after swtor went f2p from being strict sub, their revenues went up quite a bit.

Let me rephrase,

This game is supposed to be an RTS.

In an RTS you don't grind your way to the middle and in fact you dont grind at all, you start by getting your butt kicked repeatedly and you have to think your way to the top (climb the ladder). there are alot of people out there playing RTS's in a casual way for laughs but normally the games separate players into tiers or themes. Here everyone is thrown into the same boat. Its an MMOCASINO free for all.

What I mean buy winning as the reward is this.. As you learn from your mistakes and rethink your game play you make improvements and then start having success and then even greater success. This is winning and the primary reason most people play an RTS.

Getting a reward because you raided someone who left all the offense in the keep and the defense in the cat is retarded. this takes neither skill or planning most certainly not strategy. It is good for the laughs for sure but this is not winning or success but plarium rewards you for it.

Well if you want to compare this to a real RTS, that also all about resource management. No resources, no units to build, game over.  Stormfall not so much about resource management, more a waiting game.

in mmo's you do grind.  in an rts, part of the strategy is building, this is where the grind comes in in stormfall.  doing the exact same repetitive actions over and over to build.

the way i see this, is that establishment is the main reward, but establishment is not a part of stormfall gameplay.  when a 1 1/2 years worth of grinding can be obliterated in between 1 and 5 engagements, and then it will take the same 1 1/2 years to rebuild.  that is not a reward.  with establishment the rebuild should become faster and faster.  as well as the 1/1 kdr (power) mechanism, where the winner actually loses not only the same amount as the loser, but they lose even more.  i don't believe this to be an anti bullying mechanic.  as you say in an rts, you pay your hard knocks while establishing yourself,  then the more established you become, the more successful you become.  (the more dominant you are).  i see the 1/1 kdr as another 50/50 resource sink.

because the resource sinks are so much higher than the growth paths, it is necessary to recieve in-game rewards for doing anything and everything.  and we need more of them.  raiding someone who left non dominant stat troops in a castle can be considered a strategy.  one that also could be considered weaselly by honor bound competitors.  but in this there are fewer points awarded because of a penalty for leaving non-dominant stat troops on the opposite military action (offense/defense).  unless this has been changed after the scroll stat increase update.  which in truth only makes this a larger resource sink for the same tournament points gathered.

no matter how you slice it, plarium is the only real winner.  i play this game only as my own spuedo rpg.  with buy everything now mtx, this game has never been from its start a "real-time" "strategy" "game"

Lord Gadheras, some players decide in favor of in-app purchases to save time. It allows them to progress a little faster. Stormfall: Age of War is still free-to-play, and like any other game of this type it gives all players free access to all game features and an opportunity to accelerate their progress with in-app purchases. However, It does not change the core of what every player needs to do to develop their Castle and grow military power.

There is pay to save time. and ther eis pay to instant win.... one is good for a game the other isn't. And the "little faster" all deppends on how much money you spend. And there is some big spenders out there.

I read a news piece today. The 8 most richest people in the world, had more assets and money together than half the worlds population all together. Now. there is players in stormfall with bigger armies than the combined forces of entire leagues. even several leagues... well.. I guess they grew a "litte faster" right?
