There are two ways to log in: with email and via Facebook. If you logged in with email before, you need to use this method. If you log in with Facebook, it will be a new account with a new Castle.

Really wanted to start a facebook page for my league but guess that is out of the question

You can link your account to FB in your plarium.com account: http://screencast.com/t/SWpUlAvw. However, if you were trying to start playing on Facebook with your plarium.com progress, it won't work. These are two separate servers that are not connected.
