Units Will Not Be Dismissed

Units Will Not Be Dismissed

When You Lack The Grain To Maintain Them!

Archon!

From now on, your warriors will swear oaths of allegiance upon completion of training. They will no longer abandon you in times of hardship - a Spartan’s vow is unbreakable.

When you have less Grain than your Units require, they shall no longer die or desert you. You can use your Resources to train all the Units you need, and they’ll never leave you for lack of Grain.

Remember that Units still consume Resources, so monitor your Resource Production. You cannot have less than 0 Resources, but your Units may use up Resources faster than you can produce them. Prevent this by constructing and upgrading all Farms and Granaries!

hello archon

It means that no longer, you will lose the drives when not have grain, as before, you did not have grain, and lost units, but still must take grain to improve things in your city

Takes away some of the challenge

The real problem was the challenge was mostly for beginners, who didn't have the temple of Demeter yet and who were running our of grain very quickly.

Their troops were evaporating as they came out of the training buildings overnight and they couldn't understand where they had vanished... :p

In the end, the Plarium support centre was overflowing with complaints.

Veterans players had the necessary experience and troops to raid a few cities around for maximum loads (86K then, as sketches didn't exist) before going to bed, so their freshly produced troops wouldn't risk desertion. :)

While beginners were often caught off guard, and didn't have time to have built a decent list of good farms already anyway.

For this reason, this feature was hardly a problem for veterans (I've never lost ANY unit, ever), and a big pain for beginners not being properly warned and advised.

Don't forget the phenomenon only affected units garrisonned on your own walls and out of your acropolis, and never any other garrison anywhere else.

It's called "game management", but that's a foreign concept to Plarium.   Now you have players that run 100K-200K or more in the negative with no thought of losing anything when in real life there would be mass desertions.  Or is the next "upgrade" going to limit the amount of negativity a player can accrue?

Isn't that great - to have an opportunity to run 100-200k in negative, with no concequences for your Units? I bet most of real-life Armies would love to have such opportunity.
