Starting out as a new player

Archons, as we all know, starting out as a new player can be a daunting experience.

To help with those tentative early steps into the Empire of Hellas, Christopher Laing made a short guide containing some helpful tips for success in Sparta: War of Empires.

Hello there.

I like to ask where the combat experience, in the Academy, is for and what it does.

I can't find this information anywhere.

Thank you

Archon, It increase the amount of experience points you get in a fight like defending your city, raiding someone, conquering/defending emporia etc. The more experience you get, the faster you reach next level. The increase in experience won't change the amout of PvP point you will get in a tournament, just xps from fight will be increase.

You can join any Coalition you like, or create your own, invite other players and start your adventures in Sparta!

Hi, Where can I find friend offers? My coalition leader says he's sent one and he may have said he was aware of another but I can't find them anywhere, in the game or out.

War council, all troop buildings, hall of heros, academy and argentarium are all at lvl1 for everybody...non upgradable at least up to now.

The link to guide at the top does not lead to a guide.  Can you provide a better link to the game guide

Thought to add this here rather than start a new thread.

So, up to now, I have mostly avoided doing Persian Positions. Just my choice as to me they are devoid of any of the fun that comes with player interactions.

But, now that Plarium has found a way to force people like me into doing PP's (if not going to miss out on troop upgrades), I'm not sure how to proceed. I've looked for advice and can find some conflicting stuff. So, my question is .. is this the best start point for someone with virtually no experience on PP's

http://wiki.plarium.com/index.php?title=The_Persian_Positions_Handbook

or is there a newer/better guide out there somewhere.

Thanks
