EMPORIUM GAMEPLAY NEEDS REWORK

I believe most players see the Emporiums aspect of Sparta as a huge waste of game features on nothing.  Rather than working on adding a new (and annoying) feature Plarium should consider fixing the Emporium gameplay.

Why?  Because it takes up space, screens, graphics, a building and agreements – And it doesn’t work at all.

How many Emporiums (or Emporia) are ever occupied?  

Maybe 3-4 out of hundreds...

How many players ever bring home resources from them?

My experience - Sometimes two Peltasts collecting a single Drachma at double speed can make it but even that short stay is very iffy. 75% of the time they get killed.  Forget anything longer than that.

Who cares how many “ox teams” you can send, how fast they collect resources or how far your oracle can "see"?

All these features are useless because you never use the Emporiums for real resource collection anyway.

Emporiums have turned out to be only killing fields where you send units to die for PVP points.  


Not even high level players (I'm level 90) can hold an Emporium long enough to make the 5000 grain collection reward.

If I send 3, 5 or 8 Mill defense they last a little longer but still die... they never bring anything home.

There are players that regularly send several 100 Mill offense to kill emporium teams.  Once you are past level 70 (In the “big” pool) you are always subject to these unlimited size attacks.  No survival chance.

The only useful thing left for the Emporiums to do is provide the 2 Agema reward pack for killing another player’s team (By arranged mutual killing)


Some fix suggestions:

Double Resource Collection speed every minute you are there.  To make them relevant emporiums should compete with raiding bots for resources.

Limit force size for holding emporium to 5000 units and attack force to 1000 units.  This changes the battle dynamics completely.

Provide 1 minute warning of incoming raids on Emporiums (Would allow players to pull out and reduce the incentive for "hunting" emporiums since most raids would fail to hit anything).

Provide big defensive bonus for holding emporiums making them costly to raid.

a simple fix would be to keep the resources already collected if someone bumps you off them

I totally agree. 


I never captured an emporia on Sparta because my experience on Soldiers inc was enough for me. It's the same on all servers Archon and it's time for it to change !

At the beginning of their appearance we could keep them a minimum of time, I myself could make a profit of 3500 diamonds (drachmas on Sparta) in several days. But it was possible because there were no PvP tournaments every day, whereas now it is constantly.
In one of the last video, plarium is selling to have launched 43,430 tournaments the year 2017 on all its games but many are not delighted. It's because of these tournaments that you can no longer capture an emporia quietly.

But now a lot of players have got into the habit of attacking as soon as they see a busy emporia, so tournament or not, I think it will not change anything now.


The only solution is to consider what you have explained.

Thank you for the feedback and suggestions. Our developers are aware of the situation, we've passed similar feedback in the past. Whether changes will be made in the near future and if so, what changes that would be, I cannot say with certainty. However, it is not a point that has gone unheard.

very well said. I havent completed my mission "collect 9000 wood from emporia" since it appeared an year ago..

reallly unplayabe, useless feature of the game

The Most Common Use of Emporia is for PvP Points when  there are active Tournaments.

Before reaching lvl 67 I managed to collect quite a lot of denarii on emporias, in small runs of 10 minutes on it, but I  couldn't build Legates yet back then.

 But that was a year ago. Since then it's impossible to grab anything there, even when there is no PVP/Emp occ tournament.

It really is only PVP to-go place.

They made a huge mistake when they changed it from the old system.


they need to do something here - emp are a dead stick that is used only to score pvp by having friendly troops hit your men for tourney points (no def bonus of any kind) - or for high level people to smash newer players and convince them that they are playing the wrong game.


this is not good for anyone.
