TRADING RESOURCES AT THE PORT:

Just a note to all you maxed out players that have trades active at your port:
Why do you actively have trades with more then 25 ships?  The majority of the players that are looking for resources generally don't have their Granaries, Metal Works or Lumber Mills maxed out, so they are looking to the port for needed resources to trade.
So it is safe to say if they don't have maxed out buildings they also will not have more then 20 or 25 ships to make these trades with, so if you find your Port listings are not completing maybe lower the trade amounts so the lower level players can actually make a much needed trade. Thank you.

when a player puts those offers he does not really want anyone to accept them, they only do so if they are looted and not lost.

Hello Terrytap27.

Sometimes players use ships to store resources. Ships can be similar to extra warehouse or granary.  This can be good if you are waiting to do some upgrade but you dont have enough resources yet.  The most important point is protection.  They can protect your resources if other players  raid you.

For example, a player has level 23 port plus GPS upgrades.  The player can store 100+k in ships. The player also has acropolis level 26. The player can store another 150k (50x3) resources in the acropolis.  So the player can protect  250+k resources from raids.

Good luck.

I think you are right Archon.

I have both port and harbor at 23 level (out of 24) and my current galley capacity is this:

Well, thanks for the info. But I use the port to actually trade resources, the way it should be used.
I didn't realize players used the ports as a means to store an extra over abundance of resources
