Leonidas can see only 1/4 of all the enemies in the lair.

1/4 of 20 is 5

there are only 5 enemies shown on the photos

so the total enemies of Leonidas is 20

Leonidas doesn't have enemies on the picture. They're his allies.

If on land only, then 24.   If on land + on boat, then 32 total.  (We can see 1/4 of 24 on land now and 1/4 of 8 on the boat now).

It is just my guess.

Leonidas is in the lair.

He see no ennemy in the lair.

So there's 0 ennemy in the lair.

Surely, they are 50, this room is a decoy and they expect Leonidas to go after them to the interior of the hiding place or the cave and there to ambush it and to capture it or to kill it.

Leonidas carries a round shield so he is facing 6 enemies outside plus 2 on the ship.  If the shipboard soldiers count he is facing 32 enemies, if not, 24.

Sure they are divided into small groups of 10 and those 10 send 5 to spy and watch. In the image you see Leonidas boats, 2 boats and considering that the Spartans are very hard, 20 men will not be enough to beat them, worse 5 Waiting at the doors of the cave, must be a decoy, to lure them into the cave and ambush them. There must be 50, maximum 70 men inside the cave.

As I said before, they are maximum 70.
