I am currently having farmers plow fields in which to plant my drachmas...in hopes that each one will then grow a drachma tree!

Do not faint, without surrender or withdrawal.

Traveler sees and tells all Sparta that here we lie in obedience to its laws.

Here in Santa Cruz the weather is crazy, but refresh a little, the fields of drachma should feel this way, I wait for that breeze with eagerness.

On the other hand, the image of the agema rider carrying a large bag of drachmas in the middle of a field covered with drakes, as if they had fallen from the sky, makes me imagine King Midas surrounded by gold or even mythical hero being rewarded by the Gods of the Olympus with a shower of gold.

Hopefully the fields of drachmas would be protected by the fortifications I would build from the harvest.

Go with care and caution, be patient, wait is the key.

I have always dreamed and imagined myself as a Greek warrior or of any other civilization or time, whether King or Soldier, conquering cities, carrying riches to an ancient city, my city, and using it to improve my city and army.

Do not rush, in the end it will be worth waiting for the final result.

Imagine & hear the melody of the Beatles song, Strawberry Fields Forever

Chorus:

Let me take you down

'Cause I'm going to Drachma Fields

Nothing is real

And nothing to get hung about

Drachma Fields forever

la te da!

If I were in Santa Cruz I would be at the beach, and then instead of Drachma Fields the Drachma's would be every grain of sand.....

and I would run through it and feel it under my feet

Right now the weather is crazy, this cloudy wants to rain, but it does not, and still it's hot, that way I feel waiting for the rain of drachmas.

... three things in life are certain... death, taxes, and the fact that drachmas do not grow on trees...

A buried treasure, perhaps? Or one left behind by fleeing Persian hoards? Perhaps a shipwreck to be found? Would these fields be readily visible to us or would it be a true treasure hunt? Either way, it is an intriguing prospect! If it is as a contest and does not cost us drachmas to find, it would be a fine addition to the game and would allow those who do not have the real coins to spend the opportunity to grow faster.
