The Sanctum of Asclepius is to mix elixirs and turn them into higher levels. The higher level the elixirs are the better stats you get.
First you must upgrade Sanctum of Asclepius to it's max level so you can upgrade your elixirs into their max level(12) and the building to the level 10.
You have got a huge variety of elixirs which their stats differ to choose from. If you want to focus on lights u use elixirs that give bonuses to it or to all 3-4 types of units. Moreover you can also use only def elixirs or off one, depending on your playstyle.

Or just realize cadeus are waaaay too expensive so only use lvl4 elixirs...

After mixing them on the 'Amphora Chamber' to the level you wish at, then you move into the tab called 'cache' and you place the ones you wish and you apply them there. That's all :)

An example of use is Power adds to Offensive Heavy Infantry, Wrath adds to Offensive Cavalry and Strength adds to Offensive Light Infantry.Every little advantage helps.
