Question about Besieging

Just curious, I know you can attack someone who is besieged to break it up. My question is if your besieged and you have offensive troops in your Acropolis can you use them to break the siege or are they stuck till someone frees you?

No Shedlite your offensive troops are absolutely free and they are the ones you should use to liberate yourself.
If you use defensive troops to liberate yourself then they will act like offensive troops meaning your losses will be huge!
Check out how much offense a defensive unit has comparing to their defensive stats!

So if you are ever besieged or you want to liberate someone else always use offensive units to do so!
Happy new year!

thank you for quick response. I do know the difference between offensive and defensive ....the attackers don't shower as much lol

I  was curious because troops in acropolis don't engage attackers and thought they might get trapped in the case of a besieging since they don't no problem then

Just thought, if they were trapped, would be a great tactic to besiege enemy coalition and trap all their troops

Unfortunately, Besiege mechanics doesn't allow you to block someone's Units. A City operates as usual :)

How do you find out the size of the force that is besieging you. I dont want to come out with everything and find that I am vastly outnumbered. I have tried spying on my and the besiegers castles but no info.

you use scouts to check the size of the army besieging, or get a coalition member to scout the siege for you :)

He has sent scouts as well as it seems. Well I would suggest sending 100K offense to check it out. If you have many units returning that will be good cause that means there aren't many units left there..If there are no returns then that's won't be good..

For example if you send 100K offense and you get 50% of your troops back that means he has besieged you with 200K of def!

Hello stevemawer.  This suggestion can help you and your coalition.

Your city is seiged. You dont know exactly how many units are in the city. No problem. Wait for a pvp tournament, pvp timed mission or pvp coalition mission.  Then tell your coalition members to liberate your city. When they attack, they get pvp points. They win. Your city is free and you win. If you have a coalition pvp event, you and your coalition get points. You win.  Also remember that coalition units can go very fast to another coaltion member city. So it is only a short time.

That's also a very good solution!
