Best use of Ascelpius slots?

3 slots available in Asclepius. I've noticed that the offensive brews are strong but benefit only one type of unit each, while the defensive brews help all types of units, but with weaker benefits.  Any suggestions on the best combo to use, or what factors should affect one's decision? TIA.

I'm afraid you're misunderstanding the bonus values for defensive and offensive units. The reason the defensive potions show four values is because each defensive unit has these defensive values vs the differing troop types, while offensive units have only one offensive value which is used against all unit types. Meaning: if for example, you use a defensive potion for your light units, their defensive values will increase against every unit type, just slightly differently, and your potions for offensive light units will also be added the unit's single offensive value. Tak a look at the off. and def. value of a single unit and you will understand how the potions are mapped onto these values.

Cheers

Aha. thank you. Indeed I did not realize that. So I should fill my Asclepius slots based simply on whether offensive or defensive strengthening is more useful to me?

Precisely, and up to and including elixir level 4, you can swap these in and out at will, adapting to what you are currently doing. In my first weeks I used to move these around simply to match the upcoming off. or def. battles and also syncing them to the troop types I was planning to use (since you've probably noticed that there are only three slots for four unit types),

absolutely, for instance I have all offence in mine as I am a PvP addict but those who are in teams that heavily defend pans etc should think about putting all or mainly defence in

Personally I have in all 3 slots offensive elixirs since I am an offensive player.

I have elixirs for light infantry, heavy infantry and phalanx units since they are the ones I use most.

But I have my elixirs on level 8 so that I can use a silver caduceus to extract them cause once I have level 12 elixirs I will have those permanently.

It depends on each player's gamestyle actually.

If my coal had many pans and we were a defensive coalition and therefore I was a defensive player I would probably use defensive elixirs.

So are you an offensive or a defensive coal?

Thanks. And my coal is actually pretty active in both off and def, but being small myself, my contribution to the def is insignificant from the coal's perspective, so I'll probably concentrate on off bonuses. I'm still at level 4 bonuses in any case. I have one silver caduceus, no level 7 brews yet, much less 8, so I can swap stuff around easily for now.
