You mean how to get points or how does points count?

At the moment I don't see any PVP activ so you can't get PVP points, only when PVP tournament is activ.

You can get points only in battles(attacking cities, pantheons, capital)..

About counting points, well I'm not 100% how it works.. You always get more EXP points than PVP I know that. I believe it's some mix of counting killed army, army type and army strenght=PVP

you make more pvp points when you defend, then when you attack

I suggest everyone defends then, from what I've witnessed some think attacking with defense is the same thing.

Attacking with defense is a huge mistake! Please don't ever do that Archon!

The defensive units' offense is very small compared to their defense or the offense from the offensive units!
For example the attack of a single Legate is 304.7 http://prntscr.com/e9305e while it's defense is 1601.1 http://prntscr.com/e931wl (those stats vary from player to player though).

So if you decide to attack with a Legate the offense used will be 304.7 which is very little in my opinion!
