What the Players would like from you Plarium

Would just like to start off by saying I love this game been playing it for around a year now, some changes are good some changes are bad as is the same with everything but I would not like something i love playing on a daily basis become something of a distant memory.

I noticed from other forums and small riots that us as players were asked to create a list of things we would like changed, added, fixed or hope for. I found this list on another thread so thought I would add it here feel free to add your own thoughts, requests etc

THIS LIST WAS POSTED BY ROTT

The list of current problems that we face in the game are:

1) New agreement levels - offense and defense will no longer matter if all at level 32, both will be equally as strong especially against small or non buyers

2) The divide between big spenders and moderate buyers is becoming extreme, with Sparta being pushed far too much into 'Pay to Win' Territory

3) Tournament Rewards do not pay out well enough, with losses exceeding rewards, unless you bully smaller/weaker players

4) dracmas-only items, such as sketches and drachma, are not readily available enough in Tournament rewards and as such increase the power further of paying players

5) Mathematical Errors (coa attacks, reduce construction time of units etc)

6) Increase the number of gps in tournaments or put them for trade - GPS are important for small cities & bigger players that have many and don't need can trade

Main issue:

1) New agreement lvl’s give huge defense boost to offensive units and vise versa huge offense boost to defense units. This is destroying the proportional balance between offense and defense and makes it a 0 strategy game.

Solution: Agreements should give the same amount to offense and defense as scouts. Example Agemas. Not lvl 32 offense 70% and defense 440% but offense 70% defense 70%. Otherwise there is no point to strategize about proper unit usage and skilled play ability to counter a bigger buyer with poor gameplay.

Me personally would love an option for all players to have a one time city move especially for players who are recruited by their friends, this is especially good because it allows coalitions to group together form communities and help other smaller members grow,  nothing worse than having a low level player be attacked over and over when you are 600 miles away.

Feel free to add your own thoughts and opinions below.

Thank You

Ubisoft created Heros Kingdom Might and Magic 5 and it was the best strategy game but they retired the game.  I suggest plarium buy the game from Ubisoft and make it available to play for us.  I am serious.

I for one, don't agree with the list. Have you guys done the math on the Agreements?

1. I disagree with. All the lvl 32 changes do is boost up the defense so the gap isn't as huge. The primary stat of a unit is a still miles ahead of the secondary stat.

2. No comment.

3. Higher rewards would be nice.

4. No comment.

5. No comment

6. I agree with. Something should be done with the GPs and the Agreement Tree in general.

I personally would add:

7. Allow separate training queues for building offensive and defensive troops.

8. Or all multiple troop producing buildings to be built in the city.

9. Open up the Agreement Tree. Especially the GPs portion.

10. Lock the Listen to Me thread.

11. Let me have my Legions!

Thank you for replying like i said those suggestionsd were not from me just foudn them is one of the many threads and wanted to make sure they were seen and heard. Idea of this thread is to make sure all of our ideas on how we can make the game better or us as a community can come together and get some common issues to give to Plarium.

See this is the sort of level headed discussion that is actually useful. This is how things should be gone about. Not having a shouting thread (the Listen to us thread) nor a thread that demands PRIVATE talks between the self proclaimed entitled elites who are wholly obsessed with Coalition standings and rank.

I would like Plarium to stop adding tedious micro-management tasks and concentrate on improving the fun features of the game.

Why do we need to manage an Amphitheater AND an Academy?  Both are mindless tasks that need to be done every time you log in. They have the exact same function and same mechanics.  Does Plarium believe that cloning a boring feature into two features that double management time is an improvement?

The bogus fight animation is interesting the first 3 times you do it (at best) and then its just an idiotic time consuming task. There should be an auto-fight button that bypasses the screen and collects the winnings.

Why aren't there breaking queues for General equipment? because Plarium wants to sell Blacksmiths and storage slots?  Does it make sense to add boring tasks to a game and try to make players pay to bypass them??? Really?

The only reasons I have not left the game yet is that I have made good friends in my coalition and I still cannot quite give up on the heavy time and money investment I have made in the game... Plarium has only made the game worse during the time I have been playing.  It takes more and more time to manage it and the fun parts are being drowned out in boring and costly add-ons. I have stopped spending money on the game and I support the "Drach Boycott" move.

My broad suggestions to Plarium:

1. Listen to the Players, especially the ones that have played for a long time. I have seen many good ideas posted on the suggestions section of this forum... Practically none have been implemented.

2. Forget about "selling more stuff" you have a core base of players that were willing to put money into the game... I sense that they are starting to waiver.  Make improvements that help you keep those players.

3. Improve existing core features rather than adding more "fluff"

4. While Plarium may own the game the player base is their only real asset... if they leave or stop spending then Plarium has nothing.

Dear players, we would like to start by thanking you for sharing your thoughts and feedback with us. We have discussed the points you raised with our developers and will address your concerns point by point.

1) New Agreement levels: offense and defense will no longer matter at level 32 and both will be equally strong

Even with such a significant boost, Offensive Units will not be as effective at defense as Defensive Units, and vice versa. When our developers design a new game feature, they make sure it does not change the core of the game while enhancing your gaming experience. New Agreement levels provide equal opportunities to both offensive and defensive players to have better chances against their enemies. As in real life, you will need both Offensive and Defensive Units to wage war effectively.

There are a number of comments stating that it will no longer be possible to ambush Offensive Units, and one will need more offense to be able to perform that “trick”. You are right. This trick is a nice strategic move, but let us look at it from a different standpoint: multiple players brought it to our attention that their armies were destroyed in unfair battles like that. So it is only fair that players have some security against such “tricks”. We do not grant absolute protection from this, so the strategy in question can still be used. What we did is reduce its damaging effect. Such battles will still be unfair, but you are free to employ this strategy if you wish. We do, however, want all of our players to have more real and epic battles, where both sides gain Experience and agree that fights are fair.

2) The divide between players that make in-app purchases and the ones that do not players

Each and every player in Sparta: War of Empires can reach TOP positions. That, however, requires a lot of time, Resources, Units, and considerable effort. Alternatively, you can use a special Resource - Drachmas - to develop your City and increase military power to dominate the map. Everyone can get Drachmas for free simply playing the game actively, i.e. participating in Tournaments, capturing Emporia, completing quests and Achievements, etc.

Some players decide in favor of in-app purchases to save time. It allows them to progress a little faster. Sparta: War of Empires is free-to-play, and like any other game of this type it gives all players free access to all game features and an opportunity to accelerate their progress with in-app purchases. It is not unfair that players taking this route, thus supporting the development of the game, enjoy certain advantages. Again, all these advantages may be summarized in one word - time. It takes less time to advance, but does not change the core of what every player needs to do to develop their City and grow military power. Moreover, there is a number of in-game limits so no one player can dominate an entire server. Therefore, when we develop a new feature, we make sure it will not negatively affect the game balance.

Yet another thing to consider is the social aspect of our games, which is extremely important. We want our players to unite in Coalitions and build Alliances to become stronger. We understand that it is hard to compete against stronger players -- it has always been, in any game -- and that is why we pay so much attention to various Coalition activities and give players an opportunity to unite against a stronger enemy. If you have any suggestions as to how this part of the game can be improved, we will be happy to hear from you.

3) Tournament Rewards are not good enough

We would like to emphasize that Tournaments should not be considered the only way to receive Units, Crystals, or Items. Tournaments may add a bonus to all actions you perform in the game, such as fighting rivals, capturing Pantheons, attacking and defending Persian Positions, developing your City, etc., but they are only a nice addition. The main purpose of the aforementioned actions is to get Resources from Raids, rewards from PPs, and actively develop your City.

Also, Tournament rewards have always been subject to change. We regularly add some new Items, remove some old ones, change the amounts of things you get, etc. Our developers carefully calculate each Tournament reward emphasizing that rewards are a bonus, not the main point of participating in Tournaments. There are, however, rewards that can only be obtained in Tournaments. Those have a greater value since they are rare, and we do want players to participate in Tournaments to get them.

4) Drachma-only items, such as Sketches, are not available in Tournament rewards in sufficient quantities

We add new Items to the Tournament rewards from time to time, including the Items available at the Market. Apart from Tournaments, those Items can be obtained at the Market. Please bear in mind that there are many ways to earn Drachmas in the game. They are a very important in-game Resource that can be used to purchase different Items and Units. That is why we made sure our players have enough opportunities to earn them in Tournaments, Missions, Quests, Achievements, Emporia, etc. Additionally, according to players who have already used Sketches for upgrades, there are enough opportunities for you to get this Resource.

5) Mathematical Errors (Coalition attacks, reduction of Unit construction time, etc).

Calculations. Since all Battles are calculated on the server side and we do not display other players’ bonuses on the client, when you launch a joint attack, you will not see its total power. However, at the moment of the strike, all bonuses (including the bonuses from Champion Units) will count.

Construction time. It is important to understand that all the bonuses in the game increase the speed rather than reducing the time. Therefore, it is not an error. Let us look at an example to understand the difference between the two:

Let’s say a builder can build a house in 1 day (24 hours). We apply a bonus to his building speed, and now he can build 1.5 times more over the same period of time. Namely, he can build 1.5 houses in 24 hours, which means he will need 16 hour to build 1 house.

6) Increase the number of GPs in Tournaments or make it possible to trade them - GPs are important for small cities & bigger players that have many and don't need them

Our game has a certain dynamic that was planned by the developers. It means that each game feature was designed to take a certain period of time to upgrade. It gives players an opportunity to get acquainted with the in-game content step-by-step and imitates real City development, which requires Resources and, once again, time. There is no arguing that it is hard to gain Glory Points, but since they give players certain advantages, they should be hard to get.

Stronger players have more of them not because they are easier for them to get, but because they are playing the game for a long time and have accumulated them. However, it does not mean they do not need those GPs. They can still get many useful Items for them. We know that our players want to have more Items available for GPs, and we will consider adding more Items that can be obtained for GPs to the Market in the future.

Unfortunately, we cannot make them tradeable because it would negatively affect the game balance and could be abused. If we gave the opportunity to trade them, it would force us to make them even harder to get.

It is our hope that we have fully addressed your concerns and explained why things are the way they are. If you have any additional questions or points you would like to discuss, please feel free to post in this thread.

Dear Alyona,

To be straight to the point

It seems That you dont take us serious at all.

Customers complaining about wrong steps made and in return you Just say we dont care much about it and none of your wishes Will be approved

All i see is plarium pushing us to throw more and more money into the game.

This stragegy changed the game in a negative way

We used to fight each other and once the fight was over People became friends and we moved on with great respect for each other.

Due all the money involvement now a days the game changed in hatred, abuse and none respect for eachother in a game which used to be a fun game for all of us.

We as a leading group Will council with all Coas involved to discuss how we Will proceed and what our next steps will be after this none customer service level.

I wanted to upvote this comment multiple times because it is just so true. What upsets me most about the latest game changes is not only the problems inherent to them, but especially the fact that all the other suggestions remain unheard and bugs and lag become worse every day.

THIS IS THE STUFF THAT NEEDS TO BE TAKEN CARE OF

not creating more and more small tedious daily tasks that consume players' time which would be better spent on the things they loved about the game in the first place ...

Dear Rott !

Go on with it, i like to see the outcome.

so far i am sure, that HoB never will take down all the PANs on the map without reviving troops or spend anymore money in the game.

If you use more money , you play right in the hands of Plarium.

Drachma boycott is the right thing to do, no more earning from us.

stop playing Persians , unless you want to spoil your army there.

If all this will not have any result in changing the game , start deleting accounts . This will be the final chapter.

All this things will have only an effect, if many players will do the same, that is now the question for the community.

I am not sure if the game designers of this game ever imagined that game will reach such a scale.  So they are also getting clueless on what to do next….

The bigger the scale, lesser should be the features, else it creates design friction. This is what is happening now. If plarium feels, everyone needs to  sit 24 hrs. in front of this game and even spend money, I am wondering how will the person earn money if he ends up sitting in front of game only for all day

All the new features, changes in Persians have slowed down the game and taken the fun away.

In my humble opinion, game should be fast and fun. When it’s fast and fun people love to play and spend money.

*SKIP*

Why Plarium Games see it as a "trick" when you kill offence troops with offence troops ?

When you use that strategie, it means somebody attacked you first, so you only revenge at that moment.

But that player has already many advantage to start with, you only use that strategie as revenge.

The offender has already the advantage to launch his attack. No matter what distange he/she can use boosts (hidden paths) to attack you. Second they can use "relocation pools' = maximum 1 minute and 15 seconds from your city, or the city they wish to attack.

Third; they have already the advanage they can revive their losses at the infermery: 1/3 for free, 1/2 when they used sketches.

Fourth; when you attack someone, you can recall your troops when you use your normall boost uptions: means when my troops have a walk back time from the target to my city,I can recall my offence troops with using the normal boosts for every game element.

2) The divide between players that make in-app purchases and the ones that do not players

*SKIP*

No it isn't. No matter how many hours I can be online each day , it doesn't give me any advantage on raiding. I can only raid 10 raidattempts each day.  Second; no matter what time I can be active, it doesn't mean I can build troops faster.

3) Tournament Rewards are not good enough

*SKIP*

If tournement are conciderd as extra but not normal benefit or grow from army. Can you also explain your wishes for "epic battle's " ?   Because we are limited with building times.

Can you explain me , how some can have that huge army , with a normal gameplay and without revive units ?

Epic battle's , what is also showed on the forum, should be a representive of what a none -coiner can achieve, not what a coiner can do.

4) Drachma-only items, such as Sketches, are not available in Tournament rewards in sufficient quantities

*SKIP*

You can indeed gain drachma's in the game  and use them like you wish, so I skip that part.

5) Mathematical Errors (Coalition attacks, reduction of Unit construction time, etc).

*SKIP

How can you expect epic battle's when the building time is the reference ? All the 'epic battle's' Plarium Games showed isn't achievable with a normal gameplay even for free.

6) Increase the number of GPs in Tournaments or make it possible to trade them - GPs are important for small cities & bigger players that have many and don't need them

*SKIP*

I self doesn't care anymore about GP's
