square miles on global map ?

 We are considering trying something  regarding  our coalition management.  anyone know how much territory ( square miles) are in one of those square grids on the global map

If you are referring to the folds visible on the regional map, I would doubt that these can be used for any kind of reliable measurement, they seem IMO rather to serve decorative purposes only:

  1. They are not square but rectangular 
  2. They do not originate at x= / y=0 (near Beserks capital [y = -2, y = 12]) 
  3. The width of a fold is around 70 odd mi., the height around 35 mi., both in no way round numbers of the kind one would expect if this were a map grid (such as 50 x 50 or 100 x 100 mi.)
