New Unit Type - Traps. Defend Your City With Traps From Elis and Arcadia

New Unit Type - Traps

Defend Your City With Traps From Elis and Arcadia

Archon,

Following a diplomatic breakthrough with the Hegemonies of Elis and Arcadia, all Archons will now be able to safeguard their Cities with Traps: new defense-only Units that protect your City and Units from Raids, Invasions, and Political Attacks by reducing the power of incoming attacks.

Once you have reached Level 15, you can produce traps at the Agora. Here’s how they work:

There are a total of 10 Traps: 5 Arcadian Traps and 5 Elean Traps. The types of Traps produced by each region are as follows:

- Light Infantry Traps

- Heavy Infantry Traps

- Phalanx Unit Traps

- Cavalry Traps

- Universal Traps

Each Type of Trap will only defend against a specific Type of Unit (e.g. Cavalry Traps against Cavalry Units), except for Universal Traps, which can defend against all Unit Types. All Traps can defend against Political Attacks.

Elean Traps have identical base statistics to their Arcadian counterparts. They can be upgraded further by signing and updating Elean Trap Agreements. Fully upgrading the "Council" Agreements for your Elean and Arcadian Traps will double the amount of Traps you can station in your City.

Traps defend your City during attacks. Only the required number of Traps will take part in the defense, but those that do take part cannot be used again – a Trap can only engage an enemy once before being lost and will not be sent to the Infirmary.

Traps cannot be moved to your Acropolis, or sent as Reinforcements to other locations.

Bonuses that increase the defensive stats of other Units will not apply to Traps. However, you can improve your Traps by signing and updating Trap Agreements. These affect each Type of Trap statistic:

- Defense

- Limit (the number of Traps you can have in your City including Production Queues)

- Production Time

You can view all the Trap Agreements from the Agreements Tree.

The time has come to add a new dimension to your City Defense: Use Traps to your advantage. Remember, you can find out all about Traps via our official forums and the in-game help section.
