This makes no sense

Offense units have to little defense, and vice versa

I mean think about it, the excalibur can have 28.5 k offense, but only about 100-350 defense

Think about it, is it reasonable for a powerful troop to be rendered useless just because of whether its on the offensive side or defensive side?

Just asking

we can change it so that offensive troops have 80% the defense and vice versa

This is not real life it is a game, all units have their purpose. If all the units have similar stats then we should only have 4 units in the game. Think of chess and how all the pieces have their strengths and weaknesses. Learn, live, fight on!!!

Imagine if Offensive Units had the Defense value of 80% of their Offensive power.

Level 1 Thunderhead has 1680 Offense. And he would have 1344 Defense if everything was just like you suggested.

That's even more that the strongest Defensive Unit has. So why would anyone use Defensive Units then?

All Units are well-balanced in this game.

I'd like to see you drive a bus into the sea and ask the same question. Specific units have their own purpose.
This is Commander Smith of AREA 597. You are now in the custody of the most lethal F.O.B. on Zandian soil. Refusal to cooperate will be met with the appropriate level of force. You don't have the right to remain silent.
