Occasional problems in the Tracking Tab: blocked travel lines, reports do not arrive.

Title:

Occasional problems in the Tracking Tab: blocked travel lines, reports do not arrive (in general: the game is retarded in following the timing).




Often, but not always, when I send attacks on Repositories, it happens to me that the travel indicators on the tracking page are blocked (only those related to the trip on Repositories).

Moreover, when the game is in this condition, the reports are not delivered to the radio in real time and everything happens in a delayed / retarded way (or does not occur at all !).


This situation is very dangerous and puts me at risk of losing my army.

Many times I had to close the game and reopen it to make the situation re-stabilize, while my attack was about to reach the target repository.


I wonder what would happen if the game started to behave like that just a few seconds before my attack hits! (when, after spied the Repo, I have to decide whether to use the Instant callback or continue my attack).

Hello, Commander!

This looks like a visual issue. Could you please clarify whether the troops actually arrive at the Repository when the timer is stuck? Also, did you experience this issue in Incognito mode of your browser? The uncleared cache can also be a reason for this situation.

no, I play normally (not in incognito mode), as I've always played from 3 years now.

but now for the first time I experience these problems, after you have upgraded the game to the Cobra Base (including the problem of uncollectable resources from the ground; the problem of a too fast scrolling of the screen, using the wheel of the mouse, while I select the units; the problem of a large orange arrow that pulses over my base, when personal event "defeat Locations" is available, etc.).


so I'm not stupid or newbie ... I know how the game works and how the caches work.

this is not a local problem (related to my PC or my connection), otherwise I would have had to complain about these problems since I started playing this game.


all this is making the game hell for me.

Please describe the actions you perform in the game before facing the blank Tracking tab. If you are able to reproduce the issue, please try to check it via Incognito mode. Thus we will be able to verify if it is visual.

I am not able to reproduce the problem voluntarily.

as I said: it occurs occasionally, catching me by surprise.


the only thing I can do is report all the times I come across it.


in any case, lately, the frequency of events is decreasing.

so now I'm quieter because it happens less often.

Does the issue persist when you play in the Incognito mode?

This problem continues to manifest!

It is a serious problem and I urge you to bring it to the attention of developers/support/testers and open a case for it.

It prevents me from using "instant callback" in the "tracking tab".


If I lose my army because of this bug, I will claim it back !!

Hi, surely we will report it if we can reproduce it. However, without supporting evidence and examples, we can't report a bug. Please give us detailed steps to reproduce it. Also, you can record the lagging period with the help of .HAR file, so we could see what may be causing the problem. Here are instructions on how to create .HAR file.

How to reproduce the bug:

- open the game (I use Firefox, Win10)

- go to the radar.

- find repositories occupied by other players.

- send attacks and recons against these repositories.

- perform these actions repeatedly during at least 2 hours of non-stop play.

- each time go to check the Tracking Tab (on the HQ)

- sooner or later you will see that the tracking lines will be stuck (HQ > Tracking).



Secondary measures to be taken (to make the simulation more real):

- during these 2 hours perform also other usual actions of the game, for example:

  • send raids and occupations on other bases (and / or Depots).
  • send reinforcements to other bases (and / or Depots).
  • open the report window and read the reports.
  • open the Armory window (I use armory a lot, I often open and check that the setting of items is suitable for the actions I am doing (def / off).
  • go on the map
  • open Medical Laboratory (I often change stimulants, I combine them, I often open this Building to check that the setting of stimulants is suitable for the actions I am doing (def / off).
  • open UCAV deck
  • train units
  • open Black Market> Misc.> Special / Executive

- Sometimes change the status of the game from "full screen" to "reduced screen" and vice versa (then return to play in fullscreen mode).

- let the game go into "stand-by" mode by not moving the mouse (the "invite your friends" screen will appear) ... then resume the game.

- open multiple browser tabs (google, your email, youtube, facebook or other tabs of your interest).

Commander, the issue can be related to the cache memory. Once it is filled up after hours of play, the outdated data can be displayed in the game.

Please try to reproduce the issue in Incognito mode of your browser and reload the game from time to time.  

If a feature is bugged, it should be available to reproduce not after 2 hours of play. Certain steps would allow us to reproduce the issue.

It's not the cache !!

Your answer for everything is the cache !!

Sometimes it happened to me that the problem was manifested even just opened the game (after only 2 minutes from access).

I have suggested that you keep trying for 2h because in this way there is more probability that the problem manifests itself.


Before the introduction of the COBRA base, all this never happened on my computer !!

In the past I always attacked the repositories, daily, without ever having problems!

Now, on the contrary, I am constantly in danger because of these problems!



Why would my cache start to give me problems only now and NEVER in the previous 3 years of play?

your thesis does not hold and it is ridiculous!

observing the phenomenon, I have discovered what the problem is:


What happens is that the banner showing the repository's tracking line, it hangs/sticks on the "Traking tab" (command HQ) at the top of the list (I do not know why this happens).

From now on, all attacks (/ movements) that follow the blocked traking line, when they reach the first position, they are covered by the "traking line blocked" on top (like a mask covering the true traking line that is occurring).



The only solution that I found is to send a reinforcement to base near you, making sure that the reinforcement arrives at destination 1 or 2 seconds before the attack you are doing; in this way the reinforcement is placed between the "tactical missile" or "recon" (which you send to taste the target base) and your true attack!


By doing so, your attack will not be at the top of the list after the Tactical Missile/Recon hits, so the reinforcement's tracking line will be covered by this bug, BUT NOT the attack's tracking line, which will be placed in the second row, allowing you to use the instant callback even when this bug happens in the "Tracking Tab", which sticks to the top of the list the banner related to the attack sent to the repository (which, when it occurs, the stuck "repo tracking line" covers all the first tracking lines that will follow!).


Now that someone has lost 10,000 zaams, I hope that Plarium will decide to take the problem I reported seriously and make some investigations.

I will attach a screenshot when this problem occurs again, but it is useless, because in the screenshot you do not see anything strange and it's like the one I already linked in the first message of this Thread (screens 2, 3 and 4 of the image): what appears is a tracking line related to a repository attack that is blocked at the top of the list, while all the other tracking lines move.

Over the months spent living with this Bug, I found out that the count of the return units (at the bottom-left of my first original screenshot about this problem) is wrong because one of them (the one that should appear at the top) is covered below the blocked banner relative to the tracking line of the repository.

In the specific case, documented in the first post, below the tracking line of the repository (blocked) is hidden the tracking line of the units that are returning from the airport (screen 2: you can see the airport return / screen 3 and 4: the airport return is hidden under the stuck tracking line of Repo, because it should be in its place, in the first position of the list):

Note: the units returning from "ZHG fire base" had already returned home between 2nd and 3rd screenshot (50 sec. for its arrival), that's why this line is no longer visible and that's why "Airport return" is the first event of the list (otherwise, if the units returning from the "ZHG fire base" were still moving, the line hidden under the banner of the Repository would have been that of the ZHG fire Base, rather than that of the Airport!).

As you can see, the blocked tracking line (towards Repository) does not have the "callback" and "boost" buttons, so any tracking line that will end up under it (each first tracking line that will follow!), can not be recalled ... unless (as again found out by me) you do not enter another event in the list, which will place itself in first position and will overthrow the current first event to second position (this way you can use the "callback" and "boost" commands related to the hidden tracking line! ... as I explained in my previous post, dated 31 July, 2018).

Here I try to explain again what happens in the Tracking Tab, when this anomaly occurs (and what method I have devised to bypass the problem with a "trick"):

The game returns to its normal state when you close it, so it is not possible to prove that at that moment the button to callback the units was absent in the Tracking tab.

The problem occurs again when you send attacks against Repositories ...

To temporarily fix the problem, you must close the game and then reopen it... but if then you're going to still send attacks and recons on repositories, it will not be long before it happens again!


NOTE:

In the last 2 or 3 days,I have noticed a change in the game...

eg:

  • If I use "Liberate" button (inside an occupied base), to leave a base occupied by myself, when I get back on the map the base immediately appears free, whereas before you had to move the frame on the map in such a way that the Liberated base came out of the frame, otherwise you continued to see it occupied by your banner (better to say: it was possible to see the return line of the called back unit (and the icon of the unit moving on the map), but the banner above the base was not updated and you kept seeing it over the base ... now it's not like that anymore and it updates right away!).
  • In general, all events on the map are shown when they occur, even without having to look away from them with the screen frame (eg: a base no longer occupied, a repository no longer occupied, etc. ... all these things change their status under your eyes!).

This change may have had positive influences also on this bug ...

so I need to check if this* problem (*Repos tracking lines blocked on Tracking Tab) is still generated by the game or not (previously it happened to me every day, whenever I was dealing with the repositories).

I am not able to reproduce it, but (as I explained above) I understood what happens in that situation and what are the game actions that make its manifestation probable (although I have not understood exactly what the triggering action is ... it happens by chance and I have to hope that by doing some attacks on repositories this problem occurs on the Tracking Tab ... but it does not always happen! ... although it happens very often!).

I do not know if this problem also occurs in Incognito Mode.

I do not use this mode of my browser.

In general, it looks like an issue with the synchronization between client and server, the client (app in your browser) cannot get data from the server and properly reflect them. Usual reasons are outdated browser's cache, break-downs on the internet connection. In the Incognito mode, your browser doesn't store cache. Try using Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox within a week and watch if such issues will persist.

This problem no longer occurred after the August update.

so, I repeat again, it was not connected to my browser but it was a problem that belonged to the game.

it was a problem of overlapping banners, which overlapped and one concealed the other.



I've always used the same browser for 3 years and I've never had this problem (I also have never had problems with loading, cache, synchronization, etc.), then there was an update that caused this problem for a couple of months (during the summer), then the situation has returned to normal due to the subsequent update (in August) and is still normal.


So, this shows that the problem was not inherent to my browser (which has always worked well!) It was a problem of the game.
