Lost your account? Hacked? Working with Support?

Hey all-

Been a lot of threads since the Twitch data breach about folks who have had their accounts hacked. I wanna try and move some of that discussion to a single thread so we can help you better.

Have you opened a Support Ticket yet? If not, please do so.

The Process

Once you do, please respond to the automated email. Soon after that, up to a few days, you will receive an email from support asking for additional information from you. Provide as much of that as you can. Support will then begin the process of recovering your account for you.

Do Not Share Ticket Info Here

Do NOT however post your ticket numbers in public here. Account lost? Do not share your support tickets with anyone except directly to those of us tagged MODERATOR here in forums. There is a potential phishing scam going around right now. 


If you have questions about the process, or anything else, please continue the discussion here. Also, if your account is recovered, please let us know here! I've already seen we've had some successes reported in the forums, and I'm very optimistic everyone here will get their accounts back!


If you have already created a ticket and are still waiting to hear back from support please send your ticket numbers to me IN A DIRECT MESSAGE. Do not post them in the comments please.

A data breach on twitch? Did that affect people who've never been on twitch too, like me? And breach, hack,  sounds like semantics. In either case, our accounts were attacked from the server side, not our side. My security didn't fail is all I'm saying. I know, Iknow, I'll stop complaining and continue to wait, and I'll try to do it more patiently. *grumblesnort*

Single tread? lol... ok.. after 6 for me 7 days (EU) they had restore my account...

No compenstaion, no present, nothing...

dissapointed... lost guild... lost login days.... could not participate in events...

We spoke with the community managers. No tickets have been lost, you haven't been forgotten. There was such a massive wave of lost and stolen accounts recently that support is nearly overwhelmed and working as fast as they can. They aren't focusing on anything else except restoring your, and the other people's, access to your accounts.

Thhis is day 11 for me, no update, no progress, i reall want to get back into this game i love.

My account is just sitting in my clan inactive since the hack. No doubt the clan will remove me soon

Any help will be very appreciated

How do we know when our account is back? I tried again yesterday and got yet another request for info due to "suspicious activity". I'm at 15 days and that just kind felt like I was sent back to the end of the queue.  harleQuinn is helping, though, so maybe soon. But still, how will I know if I can't check without fear of triggering the process over again? Attempting to login from my android never triggered this before, only when I tried from my desktop.
