Its all good that you are looking in to the Arena problem, but unless you guys come out and inform the comunity about it, im afraid that you will still see and hear alot of rant here and on the forum. 

I will say, come out with a video on youtube, where you tell ppl what you guys are up to, like you did a few month ago, where you talked about new content, where you tell that you are aware of ppl are facing some issue with arena and you are now looking in to it, just so ppl dont quit the game, becasue they thinkg that the situation is not being looked in to.

The problem with these videos is the following:

Everybody can watch them in the future...and everybody can check the date at which they were published.

They did some videos the community was excited about....now the question remains:

They are announcing for more than a year that they are thinking about solutions of the Dupe problem...but nothing has been implemented yet

They announced the ability to specify the AI of each single champ...but nothing has been implemented yet

There is a lot of announcement about what they are working at....but if you look at the work really implemented it is just a twist of already excisting content like CvsC....the new dungeons with level 21-25 is just a scaling and a hard nerf because of the implementation of Doomtower mechanics...nothing new here as well. The arena problem is just a return of the problems some months back which was temporarily silenced because of the addition of the bot teams....nothing has been done here. And they had plenty of time to rethink the arena problem. Tag team arena is one of the most boring and most ignored features of the game. Instead of solving the underlying problem, you are forced into playing it by making it a part of the advanced missions. Mercy counter? A feature they could implement into the game at about 1 hour work for a software engineer? Nil...

My experience and position is that Plarium can announce good sounding changes as they want...as long as they are not implemented into the game and visible...I do not believe them anymore. They are announcing way too many good features without ever implementing them....that is stick and carrot...

Ok im still what I will call a new player, just recived dark Athel from login. 

So I dont know alot about the past, and If that is the case, I am afraid that I will not stay in this game that long, I have already spend some money on it, but if there is no future in this game, then I think I will consider if there is any idea in spending more on it, if they are not fixing the problems that already are in the game.

I can only advise to make your own observations and judge according to them and not on something people are posting in this forum. All the posts are just subjective to the posters experiences....make your own ones, build up your opinion and act on that.

Also so much depends on a players power

I started a new account a month ago although i cant be bothered to do it now, by focussing on arena teams from the start i sailed into silver without facing any full level 60 teams

But  as a mature account that has fallen into bronze it is many times more difficult to get back out, which is of course ridiculous

So as you say everyones new player experience will vary according to their initial focus

Indeed. I made it halfway to S3 in the first month. Part of the reason for that is because I got Madame Serris, but I was either in S1 or very close to it even before I got her. Then I dropped back down to B3. It was not until about 90 days in that I got back to where I was 2 months earlier. Right now I'm doing okay in mid S4, but I can't say it's particularly enjoyable given the amount of effort that is required and that the game is forcing me to minimize my power level.

The thing is, the matchmaking system does a good job of hiding what the arena actually looks like overall. If they just made matchmaking entirely random (within an arena point span), it would be much easier to estimate just how bad the power balance situation is. Right now, arguing that a new account can get into silver is completely meaningless, because the system is made in a way that makes it considerably easier for a new account to do so. Without it, accounts would end up somewhere approximately where they belong in the ranking, and you would better be able to tell how strong a team actually has to be for it to get to a specific tier.

Well it is a deflationary system with all excess points removed each reset, so as time goes on the lower tiers will have more and more end game players in them, and of course matchmaking will ensure they fight each other. 

I have never played a game before (and admittedly this is more like a casino than a game) where improving your 'power' results in the same content becoming more difficult, it is really daft and goes against everything to do with rpg progression

But, i dont believe for a minute that plarium are trying to do anything about it, if their analytics had shown a drop in revenue they would have done something already. Clearly the players they are losing are mostly ftp or very low spenders, in which case they wont care.

Playing for roughly six months now. It was quite easy at the beginning to get a arena gold Level, even with a team with no speed boost. Imagine that, i got even into gold IV. Since the last update, i dropped into silver I. Still got no champions with speed aura for the arena which seems to be essential to have the slightest chance of winning. As a new player i don´t see any chances i could get in the gold ranks again atm, that means no fair chance to upgrade the great hall to a decent level.  Today i have to update 10x or more to get at least my 5 winnings per day. 

I don´t know if Plarium will get the great hall bonus to the power ranking of the team or mix the opponent rooster in that way or do something else. The way it is at the moment is frustrating and senseless. Hope i got it clear, no english native speaker. 

I give up. 

Have slowly slid from occasionally getting into Gold IV to Bronze IV and still going down. Might be able to halt the slide here but I can kiss mission progression goodbye as Gold III now looks a loooong way away. 

Wont even be able to upgrade Great Hall bonuses anymore so I think it's game over for Arena play unless I get incredibly lucky and pull one of the end game Arena legendaries. 

I don't know what they did but I have a f2p account lvl 35, and they have managed to make it so i cant get out of lvl 1 bronze making points to add to Castle Hall. I can fill 2 of the three icons , then the weekend rush of players hit and every single enemy teams are all lvl 50 -60 full ascended teams, I can't beat anything then doing the clan and game lists, by Sunday it back to 900 points.  They gotta fix this mess i was doing ok till about about two weeks agom then it started going south. I don't know all the right terms and parts of the math equations , but they modified something and now Arena is FUBARED. Canth-Bendan

Agree, I am starting to give up on arena. I have tried and tried, but no matter what I still get match up agains whales, and I dont want to stop focusing the other parts of the game like Fraction wars or CB, and if I want to do that, then Arena is off limit. Now I just do the dailys, and hope plarium fix the arena in the near future, a shame cause the game else is fine, but the Arena kills the joy of the game.

Went from Gold IV to Bronze IV currently and probably will be dropping more. Plarium please for all that is holy, undo what you have done.

So many players here say they've been in Gold 4 and drop down to Bronze. If they where in Gold 4 at all, probably only because the free victories from Level-1-Warboy-Teams got them into this stage. 

I tested it, made such a lvl 1 team for defense over night, woke up today in Silver 1 (from Gold 1). I just wanted to see if it's really that hard to fight in lower arena tiers. No, it's not. It's easy to go up in Silver if you have a team that really belongs into Gold. My arena fights from today:

Arena is maybe not the way it should be right now. But it's not that broken as the complainers cry out in dozens of threads here.

And I allways wanted to post a pic where I beat one of the "full lego, lvl 60, fully ascended legendarie teams with Hegemon". 😺

The gear I use is far away from beeing perfect, what is the reason why I never played higher than Gold 2 and stayed only in Gold 1 before I made my "scientific observation" of Silver arena. Some of the artifacts are only 4* right now. But I know what to do for improvement, basically it's grinding dragon 20 to get artifacts with the right stats to keep and a lot of artifacts with the wrong stats to sell for silver. A 6* speed set helmet with only 1 speedroll can't replace my 4* helmet with 3 speedrolls on Apothecary. 

Btw, I really hope Plarium soon does the promised "set the AI of your champs manually"-thing they announce all the time, in arena defense I can't use my team because Sinesha is not using her AoE A1 on auto. She prefers her A2, which is a single target attack, instead.

The fact that you have a team of 60 kinda proves my point, New players dont have that, and if they want to farm dragon 20,  they also need to focus on other champs to get the speed gear. 

You are rigt that a uncommen with speed roll is better than a Legendary whitout speed, but still, you know how to play arena and how to build, something new players dont, and I think many loses the interesse because they run in to that huge wall, and cant get pass it 

I wasn't talking about new players, but about all the players in this thread here that say how they dropped from Gold 4 into Bronze. They are not new players. They are players that got into Gold 4 while fighting a lot of lvl 1 def teams and therefore didn't build a decent arena team all the time. They never belonged into Gold 4. Nobody with a Gold 4 team can drop into Bronze. I just showed how my Gold 1/2 (not Gold 4) team went from Silver 1 to Silver 4 in one day, and I had to stop only because arena tickets run out, probably Gold again tomorrow.

I think arena is probably why most people quit.  The simple solution would be to stop forcing people to fight in the arena to progress, turn it into tag team where people do it for dailies but it isn't an essential part of the game, entirely optional with optional rewards.

Really, one part of the game is extremely unfun for most players, why would you keep forcing players there?

Having a wierd thing happen in my arena that makes no sense

I logged on to find i had gained 200 odd points in defence hovering just under gold 2, being attacked by gorg leads, skullcrown leads mostly and winning almost all of them.

On attack though its arbiters and lyssandras or super tanky teams and i lost five on the trot- im losing the speed race (283 sheet speed) every time it seems.

So the teams im gaining points on defence from are nothing like the teams i have as options in attack, anyone had this before?
