Do not get discouraged. Greybeard is a beast in later stage of the game and will prove himself very useful, just search for some online guides. I have same problem not being able to drop spirithost but I already have 7 greybeards out of 189 runs (which is nuts). RNG is a bitch sometimes but Durham Forest is one of these places that regardless of what drops it is good. Cheers and good luck hunting SH!

Not to ruin your mood - but Graybeard is not a beast in later stages of the game, and no, he will not prove himself very useful.

He has a very limited amount of usefulness early on while you're leveling, but we're talking *super* early on. You shouldn't level him beyond level 40, and you shouldn't waste resources ascending him or giving him masteries.

Correction to my previous post: I've done 250 hard Durham forest runs, it dropped 2x spirithost and 5x greybeard (I mistook satyr for greybeard so I thought it actually dropped 7 times). Little side note regarding odds: on normal chance to get rare from stage is around 0.5% not 1%. So it makes no point to farm champs there ( still normal is the most efficient way to farm xp but that is different story). Hard seams to be the most reasonable solution with decent ratio nrg/drop. Good luck getting your free rares!

In case this helps, Brutal difficulty is proven to be the most efficient as far as XP farming per energy cost, versus time frame altogether.

Not true. Nightmare gives better return on investment for XP and silver per energy.

1. Why 4-7? Is the chance to get a champion drop better in boss stages? Otherwise 4-7 just costs more energy and would be the worst place to do.

Well, seams I was wrong this time, I had outdated chart with xp spread, yeah brutal is the way to go when farming xp.

No, chance for drop is not higher from boss, so it doesnt make sense. But I agree with Greybeard, spirithost will drop in your roster rank once you will get better buffing champs (who are not that hard to get tbh).
