Well that is an interesting puzzle you have presented...

I have consulted with my 1st officer [Spock] who said the riddle mathematically answers algebra 130.  This is of course, that the numeric assignments to each symbol represents a mathematical value.

If we are to assume that they represent more [in this case: ships, kraken, and rum] then each equation is a summation of items:

Ships multiplied by 5 = 100

Rum multiplied by 5 = 5

Kraken multiplied by 5 = 25

Therefore the only logical assumption from a puzzle of this design is the numeric one, so the value is 130.

You can't win against Mr. Spock, he has flawless logic...

Ship = 20 + Ship = 20 + Ship = 20, Total = 60

20+20+20=60

Ship = 20 + Kraken = 5 + Kraken = 5, Total = 30

20+5+5=30

Kraken = 5 - 2 Rum = 2, Total = 3

5-1+1=3

Rum = 1 + Ship = 20 x Kraken = 5, Grand Total = 101.

1+20x5=101.
