Where level 50 players are expected to compete against level 97 in the same tiers?
Level 97 coiners have upgraded most of their best units to level 32 but all of my juggs, subs, frigates and gunboats are level 1
and if we are successful we get the princely sum of 120 rubies? and get placed in an even worse tournament tier next week???
You expect us to destroy our entire army for 120 rubies?

Can nobody else see the flaws in this new tier system? None of these players should be in my tier
I am level 50 so my tier should ONLY be for players who are level 41-50
I'd like to suggest that those tiers depend on players' diaries, rather than the previous tournament activity. So, for prize tournaments, the tiers would depend on prizes score in the diary (or, maybe, the top prize that the player can hit?), for PvPs/Bastions/Presidios the tiers would depend on off+def score in the diary. For upgrade tournaments, total exp or level (for all purposes, the two are the same thing).
The current system would work fine if it depended on much longer time spans, maybe the last 6 months of tournaments. The way it is now, it is quite unbalanced.
On an unrelated (but still topic-related) note: I really liked the gift this time. It was a pleasant surprise, and much better than the previous one (for St. Patrick's day, I think). Thank you for that one, Plarium!

Why waste fleet or armada just to win mercs? If I want mercs I can boost them in my que. At least when rewards are brethren units you are getting something that can only be had from adventures or spending real money.
