Lighthouse Prizes for Beginners

There are many systems to use for attacking Prizes in the Lighthouse (LH) and this one is for New players starting out. This is just one that will do the least amount of damage to your total troops and get you off to a good start.

Before we go too much further, here’s a bit of background on the Lighthouse and why one should use it. The LH gives rewards and especially when starting out is a good way to acquire Ships and other Troops you can’t build yet. You can use lower strength troops with high Rum consumption to get a reward that will give your Offense or Defense strength a boost and cost you less Rum to please your crew.

The first step is to stop attacking them if you already have. Then, work to build up 500 Marauders or Bonnies. This will depend on what type you plan to attack, Offense or Defense. Once you have your 500 Pirates ready to sail send them at Prizes starting with the lowest level and moving up one each time. Repeat this until all 500 are gone. Now you will go back to building. This time you will want to build 1,000 Pirates and repeat the process.

There is a running total kept of resource value of troops lost vs troops won, in order for you to receive a payout you must first get this into a negative value. So basically you will have to lose a little more than what your previous reward was. Getting started in the LH by using Pirates and saving your Rewards will help in the future and you are just trading Pirates for better troops that consume less Rum. As you get higher in levels of the LH it will start to take a tremendous amount of Pirates to defeat the Prizes. This is where it is up to you what you send, but you should always be aware of what types of troops you are getting for rewards. Especially in the lower levels, it would be a step backwards to trade Armada units for a reward of Mercenaries. It can get a little frustrating or overwhelming at times, just remember… It will pay off.

That is a nice article, thank you for posting it here.

Here is the link on other tips regarding prizes.

In addittion to that return depends on the type of troops you send, well high chances to get good troops.

let say if you send marudars, you wil get bucaners or bombraiders

if you send bombraiders you will get cannoner or brig.

if you send brig you will get frigate or juggs

if you send in juggs you will get SOL's

You need to find what troops suit better for your type of game play, because i am a raider & i need faster troops So i build pirates as well but i send my all units to offense prizes whose speed is less than 20 (with prestige activated) these are buc, maru, canonner, brig and sometimes frig as well.

for defensive prizes i send everything except gear & Armada units.

I have to disagree. Unit types don't necessarily define what payout you get. The bank is based off of troop values not types. for instance a maurader is worth 150 resources while a bucc is worth 500. I've sent in thousands of mauraders and gotten juggs or sols. But from what we've seen gear units have no value in the prizes however you can still use them in the adventures to beat them faster.

Dreads no value

Brethren/Pardon units are worth half

Unless you know what you're doing in the lighthouse any payout of fleet or armada keep them. The point as a player of the lighthouse is to gain more units or the units you can't build. You'll never be able to build a sizable fleet just by building or  buying it. Some players swear by it but I suggest against throwing your entire fleet at a single prize.
