What are the most powerful, but least rum consuming ships and units?

Can u pls give us a list of the power vs rum consumption list from top to bottom?  For example it seems that junks consume a lot of rum but are very powerful against Armada units.  Can you do better than junks against Armada units by loading up on a lower cost unit for example which consumes very little rum?  And so on and so on for different purposes, offense and defense...

Moved to Game Discussion.

There are no official lists, but maybe some other players have their own ;)

Offense

Brethren Juggs or if access to pardons is available. Pardond Juggs.

Defense

Brethren Subs or again pardond Subs

The second reason these units that add to their listing is also because of their rum consumption. To get the same value of stats you'll need to consume more rum .

If working in the lighthouse however based on cost + time + stats = Bonnies(defense) or Mauraders(offense)

You dont need a list

Most Armada units consume 4 rum, Fleet consume 3 rum, Mercs are 2 and Pirate Infantry is one rum per hour

Brethren units consume less and so do pardoned units

Chinese units are a horrible waste of rum (Junks and Turtle Ships consume 8, and chinese infantry uses 4 ph)

Scouts are greedy too so dont keep too many. If you are suffering from rum shortages you probably have too many scouts and chinese units - send them all to die at  Prizes.

Your Captains Quarters gives total rum consumption for all your units as well as total production.

Low rum production (or negative production) is a nuisance, but will not affect your game very much ... and your units will not die nor mutiny

If you're in a presidio BH then you can pardon your troops. Usually cuts rum consumption in half. Bringing Armada units to 2 per unit.

A secondary way to see rum consumption is:

Personally I disagree on killing off scouts. Depending on your BH you need them for the presidios or bastion as well as for raiding. Having negative rum consumption however can mess with game play. Negative requires to always raid before being able to do upgrades or que troops. As well as efficently doing the prizes. Namely because you want to have your ressources at 3/4 or full to boost your payout. Getting resources reduces the number of troops you get. Remember getting resources does count toward your bank.

Good answers all, thx.

Meanwhile I have another Rum Consumption q:

If you were desperate to get more rum production or less consumption, which would you do first:

1) Upgrade distillery and use rubies for boosts to bring it into production quickly

2) Use rubies for Rum Reduction

3) Use rubies for Resource increase 25%

4) Other?

Thx,

I'd go for #1, because it's permanent.

For temporary solutions, just raid a few havens. I'm running at -150k/h and I have no trouble queuing new units (all of my queues are 7+ months), and upgrading buildings and discoveries. I do need an occasional rum donation from my friends, but not very often.

Check your smugglers den for free 25% boosts and rum storage   http://prntscr.com/fz91qt

If you dont have any them you must be in an inactive brotherhood so consider joining another - never use rubies for resources

Also, the Steam/Gear units are pretty good and use less rum  https://prnt.sc/3hi8c5

The problem with this game, I mean the BIG problem, is that the Royal Cannon only gives gold and lumber. What a waste of 1000 rubies

Why cant we upgrade it to higher levels to get +30% or more added to all resource production?

Doing some of the personal events each day, you will usually have one that gives out the +25% production for rum, gold, lumber.  I basically have that running all the time.  You can find that in the smugglers den as well

I'd have to agree with Crowbar. To add to that though find a BH with a decent leveld bastion. As long as they upgraded it properly you'll also get a % off rum consumption. And don't forget to apply the pearls in the witch doctors hut.

Aha !   I didnt even see the Witch Doctor Hut gig to reduce Rum Consumption permanently, thats very useful thx.

Second benefit to being in an active BH that actually upgraded their bastion and kept up with knowledge
