Plarium Needs A Captains Panel

Plarium needs to set up a panel of Captains that can suggest tweaks to the game to make this a fun thing.  As it exists it is tedious with no real payout for the 95 percent who waste their time here.

Start with the fact that we have to battle each other for our simple existence.  Second is the fact we spend a month building troops and ships to kill them off in a matter of minutes.  Third is fact we spend more time waiting for raids and Galleons than we do actually planning and plotting.  Fourth is the time it takes to do Discovery's and endless number of days to build Haven structures.  Fifth is fact Plarium makes it impossible to max out havens without BUYING rubies and using them to buy etchings....and Whirlpools and other required needs in the game.

Start with those 5 items and then I will tell you how the game SHOULD BE.  (at a later date).

If you think that Plarium wants you to be able to play for free, you're sorely mistaken. This game is advertised as being free, but - as you said - playing for free is tedious and not a lot of fun. IMO, that's by design.

As for the rest of the things that you mention, your mistake lies in thinking that this is a strategy game. It is not, and you can easily see it from the fact that we're denied basic info on how the game works ("we should discover it ourselves"), prizes being the most obvious example.

P.S. Whirlpools are not required. I never used one, and I'm doing quite fine without them.

To a degree I can see the benefit to a panel but who's to say the panel speaks for all of us? Argument sake a panel was created it would have to be no larger than 20 people. There's well over 1k players on the main server. Does that small amount speak for all of us. I think not. It would cause more trouble than its worth. Going to your points though

1. Its a war game of course we need to battle each other. This isn't farmville

2. Again "War Game" but if you want to control your losses it requires some sort of strategy. Even "coiners" know you can't throw rubies at everything to solve you problems. Some of never spend a dime and build massive fleets.

3. If you don't like the base speed of your units the game gives you ways to upgrade the speed of your units and galleons without boosts from the smugglers den. Its called pearls in the witch doctors hut or House of Navigation for galleons. To use galleons for res transfers you speed things up by either being in a BH or friending people.

4.If we could build everything instantly whats the point. Then we should just be given havens that are fully upgraded or why not just give us havens that aren't upgradable at all then. Saves us time right? There's no waiting then.

5. If you think buying rubies is the only way to attain them then you're not in the right BH who can show you how to get them or you haven't tried hard enough. Examples - Weekly tournaments(blocks, missions, ransom, off, def) coming in top 10 or better top 3 gains you 10-5000 rubies. Etchings were something the players asked for plarium didn't initially give it to us. We wanted something for our carpenters to do after everything was built to lv20. Discoveries going to lv32 is new.But plarium cuts us a break we can get to lv30 with only res. Only levels 31 and 32 require etchings.Whirlpools aren't required they're nice but not required.

I just love it when "Moderators" come to the defense of Plarium.  First off if you say you have never bought rubies you are a plain old LIAR.  NOBODY gets any levels without spending CASH.  I understand I do not speak for everyone and that NEITHER do you.  All I am saying is make KING CARLOS an actual entity in the game for people who do not wish to start a war every time they want extra resources or prizes.  Give him some havens and some governors for them to war with us.  Get rid of some of these puny under 20 havens that sit abandoned for over 6 months.  They cut the resources for raiding bots and then bots started disappearing as well.  They cut us back because whiners started the NO CHEATS campaign.  Now they want everyone to pay even more cash for this game. For the Moderators...maybe instead of spouting the company line you should actually be real players and figure out a way to make it better.

Hi dwb, You decides who sits on the panel? Should it only be players that spend money in/on the game?

q: Start with the fact that we have to battle each other for our simple existence.

In Pirates Bay, you do not have to fight any one, to get by

q: Second is the fact we spend a month building troops and ships to kill them off in a matter of minutes.

It is a matter of strategy, a significant amount of players, tend to send to much and the wrong type of assists to a task, for example, what is the point in sending a lot of equipment to raid when 50 SoL can carry the maximum, you can trade with a player, unless you wish to " take out" for a reason a large defensive force, why would you expose your hard earned assists to undue danger.

q: Third is fact we spend more time waiting for raids and Galleons than we do actually planning and plotting.

I don't, if those assists are tasked out, and I do not have any others or I run out of raids, I get on with other tasks with in the game, like BH admin, or blockading, or building etc etc

q: Fifth is fact Plarium makes it impossible to max out havens without BUYING rubies and using them to buy etchings....and Whirlpools and other required needs in the game.

If there was no reward for spending money, Players would not spend money, what would be the point.

Why should a player that does not spend there money on the game get some thing for free, that a Player who dos spend there money on the game get.

Its like going into a bar and telling the barman, you like a beer but you do not want to pay for it.

I just want to input something:

Pirates is NOT a war game. It is a PIRATE game.

Which means that the purpose of this game is not make war. It is to steal.

This is very basic. If to rob X, you will need to expend 2X, better do not rob.

First of all i want to inform you, that i dont want to defend plarium in any way. i think there are so much things they should work on and which they have to improve. And maybee, you call me a liar now. do what you want. but you dont have to buy rubies to Level up or have successes in the game. i dont pay and everything works fine. it makes some things easier, but thats it.

Have a nice day

First off it was never mentioned in replies to this thread that rubies aren't purchased. The only thing that was stated is how to get them for free.

Secondly the issue of bots, I've been an avid supporter since they first appeared to remove them from the game, because it makes us lazy. I've been playing since day one. The game had more appeal to it when we were attacking each other for resources. there was strategy to it, planning and learning about who to attack and when. On that specific issue I've not supported plarium. My stance has been not enough is being done to have them removed. But a band-aide approach was taken to  reduce the amount of resources they produce.

Our job as moderators isn't to defend the company but to ensure forum rules are followed to make this environment is enjoyable to all those who'd like to use it. As well as to help players with issues that we can help with to the best of our ability. Anything we can't help with you'll see we refer you to support.

To expand on the analogy used above. Peanuts might be free but if you want a drink you have to pay for it. Bringing it back to the game. How do you think they pay for the servers, the hosting costs or the employees who manage the game.

Maybe a terminator is doing all the work. If thats the case then hope you have a plan B
