If you wish to come out on top in the battle against Xerxes, you must learn to manage the three main Resources – Bronze, Grain and Timber.
To increase your Resource production, you will need to construct Farms, Lumberyards and Forges. These will help provide the people of your City – and the warriors in your army – with everything they need to survive and grow. Your Bronze and Timber stockpiles will be stored in Warehouses within your City, and the Grain you produce will be stored in Granaries. All of your Units will require a certain amount of Grain per hour in upkeep costs. Build and Upgrade your Farms to increase the amount of Grain produced each hour.
Remember, the total amount of Grain that can be kept in your City is limited by the capacity of your Granaries, so do not forget to continuously Upgrade them to increase your storage. An intelligent Archon will not rely solely on the Resource production of his own city and peoples, but instead use his army to retrieve the necessary resources. You will also need to master the art of Trade if you wish to maximize the efficiency of your City – Trade your surplus Resources with Friends, Allies, or even enemies to ensure you always have enough to sustain your City.
